22 Jul Summer Reflections
It never fails, as the lazy summer days unfold, we think of sitting around the pool, going for long walks, biking, reading fiction and hanging out with family or friends. What could be more refreshing than spending time with those we love and care about while at the beach?
What about reflections? I find that summer is a great time for some quiet musing. I call it my summer reflections. It is a time to look at my activities over the first half of the year and envision how I want the next half of the year to unfold. I engage in long conversations with friends, ask more questions and spend more time in thought. Undoubtedly, those long, lazy summer days are my most productive of the year, because I engage in contemplation and planning, resulting in great products and resources I can monetize for years to come.
If this is a new concept to you, here’s how to start:
- Since summer induces dreaming, I believe we need to work with what we have. Begin dreaming about what you want to create. Ask yourself: What is one thing I can do to make my dream a reality?
- Next, plan to take a small step towards making your summer dream a reality. Since you have more access to friends and family in the summer, ask for help and don’t forget the most important ingredient, make it fun for them to help you.
- Finally, remember that every goal – no matter how fantastic – is comprised of many small steps. Consider how you can start putting one foot in front of the other and you’ll be on your way to your big dream in no time!
If you have a summer dream or project in mind and don’t know where to start, drop me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to help you brainstorm some action steps that are fun and naturally summery!
