Coaching Responsibility

Coaching Responsibility

coaching responsibilityWho is responsible? Do you find yourself asking this question often? What if there was a way to help people take responsibility without fear, bribery or shame?

Seldom does anyone willingly take responsibility for things.Coaching is a process that fosters responsibility. One of my favorite elements of the coaching process is its apparent ability to encourage responsibility without force, without blame or judgment.

We run a course called Coaching Responsibility that demonstrates how to skillfully encourage others to take responsibility. It is believed in the coaching world that the coach’s job is to create awareness, change perspectives and a new way of thinking. When this is done correctly, it lends itself to the fostering of responsibility. A deep seated desire to take action to correct, improve, develop or address a gap, set a goal, attain new opportunities or change limiting behaviors.

Getting others to take responsibility is something most organizations are challenged with. It is an issue in personal relationships and in parenting. Too often we believe the way to responsibility is through shaming, manipulating, bullying, cajoling, force or bribery. Coaching thankfully offers another option; one that expands the thinking of the other, increases awareness, changes perspectives, generates new ideas, explores a new way of being and acting, inspires action and enthuses responsibility for getting things done.

If you are looking to encourage responsibility in others at home or at work, you will enjoy the coaching responsibility course and will leave with tools and tips to foster responsibility. You can request this course at your workplace, as a group coaching session or look out for our next scheduled session day or evening classes available here.
