Compassion is a verb that requires us to do or show something, it has powerful motivational forces that can compel us even outside our limits.
In this course, we will look at the connection between compassion and understanding, we will examine acts of compassion and discuss how it feels to receive or view acts of compassion and understanding. We will also examine the role of compassion in coaching. Look at how compassion can be executed within the bounds of the coaching process.
We will ask and answer the question whether a coach can take compassion to far outside the bounds of coaching. Though coaching compassion for others is a vital part of the coaching process being overly compassionate can deeply affect the partiality of the coach, and impact their objectivity or ability to be the clients “third eye”.
Objectivity is the coach’s biggest gift to the client. Coaching compassion is vital for the coach to maintain an understanding that is objective and goal focused.
