08 Dec Coaching Through Career Illness and Transition to Wellness
Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking part in a global conference on place of coaching in field of health and wellness. In preparation for this conference….
I explored topics such as illness, wellness and recovery in relations to careers and organizations.
Coaching is continuing to prove itself a viable process and an ideal solution to helping organizations respond to career transition issues such as illnesses and wellness.
There are myriads of issues requiring transitions such as promotions, new responsibilities, change in portfolio, management of staff, meeting new stakeholders’ needs, union relations, market fluctuations, addressing labour requirements and dealing with the internal politics make today’s work reality. Many employers are overwhelmed when without the complexities of social, mental and physical wellness issues.
Any size workplace today can be faced with issues such as stress leave, sick leave, maternity leave, long-term disability and additions recovery, as party of the day-to-day challenges of work and life.
Our course on Career Transition from Illness to Wellness looks at how the “Coach at Work” can be an ideal support for employees and the organizations. It helps one to understand what the coach does and how the coach can support and aide in the creation of structures to address these transitional issues in the workplace. There are benefits to having internal coaches on staff who understand their organizational culture and can meet internal needs of employees and management. However, there are several issues where an external coach would be a better fit, in relations to confidentiality and impartiality.
This course provides a look at these two angles and equip coaches to meet the internal coaching needs of their organization and the external coaching needs of their client’s organization with clarity and focus. If you are curious about how a coach may support your organization through career transitions such as illnesses and wellness, register for this course and get ready to deal with the transitional challenges of illness through to wellness in organizations.
